Mastercard Click to Pay is a secure, fast, and seamless checkout solution that simplifies online payments for customers.
It eliminates the need to manually enter card details by providing a one-click checkout experience using stored payment credentials.

As a Payment Service Provider, we offer Click to Pay support for our merchants. However, the implementation process differs based on your integration type.

Important: At the moment, Click to Pay does not support tokenization or subsequent MIT / CIT payments.
If a merchant requests tokenization, the integration will automatically switch to the regular card payment flow instead of using Click to Pay.

Guide above explains when action is required and provides step-by-step instructions for integrating Mastercard Click to Pay.

Merchants using our hosted payment page

If you are using our hosted payment page, you don’t need to take any additional action.

  • We handle the entire Click to Pay integration for you
  • The Click to Pay button is automatically included in the checkout flow

No further setup is required on your end.

Merchants using custom integration

If you have a custom checkout page, you must manually implement the Click to Pay UI component.

Why is this necessary?

  • We do not return the Click to Pay logo in the /oneoff response
  • The Click to Pay button UI component is provided by Mastercard, and merchants must include it in their checkout
  • Merchants are responsible for customizing the Click to Pay button to fit their design

What You need to do

  • Add the Click to Pay button UI component to your checkout page (Mastercard Developers)
  • Ensure it visually aligns with your existing payment options

How to add Click to Pay button UI component

Step 1: Get the UI Component from Mastercard

Mastercard provides a ready-to-use UI component for Click to Pay.

Step 2: Integrate the UI Component into Your Checkout Page

  • Customize the button appearance to match your checkout design
  • Ensure it is placed alongside other payment options for a seamless user experience
  • Clicking on the Click to Pay logo should redirect the user to the card payment link, just as it currently does in the existing integration for card payments

Tokenization and Click to Pay limitations

Click to Pay does not support tokenization or subsequent MIT/CIT payments.

  • If tokenization is requested, the system automatically switches to the regular card payment flow instead of using Click to Pay
  • This means users will manually enter their card details for tokenized transactions and Click to Pay logo can’t be used in this case
